    Weathergeeker for Feb 10

    Picture
    Good Evening,

Tonight on the Weathergeeker we are going to evaluate this next cold surge that is inbound and already has started in the Northern Plains. What we can expect is very cold air some places may see the coldest air of the winter so far.

Northern Plains: Overnight lows between -10 and 0F. And windchills well below -20F.

Midwest: 10-20F for overnight lows on Saturday night. Also wind chill values will send the temps to an actual feeling of 0F.

Gulf Coast Region: Overnight lows here on Saturday night are headed towards the 20-30F range. For some places this will be enough to cause crop damage and also damage to all the new plants that had just started growing because of the mild weather.

This event will be over done and out of here by the 14th. However on the back side of this Arctic High we could be dealing with another powerful winter storm. Stay tune tomorrow night for my thoughts and updates on that system.

    Enjoy the Weather

    Weathergeeker for Feb 5

    Good Evening,

Here is our updated thoughts on this next approaching storm. We are now begining to see things take shape. NHC has issued a Invest on the Low that is going to develop in the Gulf this week. This low is forecasted to track over Florida. Now if the High pressure builds in fast enough it can start changing this precipitation over to snow and mix for many places including Northern MS and AL. Snowfall amounts look to be light in the South around Trace -2inches and then increasing in the Mid Atlantic to 4-6inches possible. Time it gets up into Maine and the rest of the Northeast we could be looking at amounts between 4-6 inches also.

Make sure to keep watching and check back as this storm is expected in the US by late this week.

    WEATHERGEEKER FOR FEB 3

    Picture
    Good Morning,
Welcome to another edition of Weathergeeker "Eye on the sky". Today we are going to evalute a weather system that is going to develop rather far south for this time of year. This system may take on some form of Tropical features, however it should become a Sub-Tropical system I believe. This system will develop on the 7th near the enterance to the Gulf and then slowly drift northwestward into the Gulf.

Then on the evening of the 9th start making an impact on the Northern Gulf States. It looks like LA will see first impacts with winds near 40mph and heavy rain. Then towards MS/AL and also winds may approach 35mph with higher gust and very heavy rain is expected.

Finally the system will move over Northern FL and Southern GA before heading back out to sea. This system is still a week away and things can change however now you have a idea of something big possibly heading this way.

    WEATHERGEEKER FOR FEB 1

    Picture
    Good Evening,
Welcome to our new Weathergeeker  "Eye on the Sky". This is where we are going to analize upcoming storms and show you what the potential track may include. Our first storm is going to be on Feb 3-4. As it begins to develop in the Southwest part of Texas and make its way Northeast. We are expecting to see a broad area of heavy snow set up just to the Northwest of its track. Some snowfall amounts in CO/NE may reach 7 inches. While most other spots will fall int the 3-5inches. On the southern side of the storm we are also seeing the stage being set for some severe weather. Right now through our yellow line looks to be were the best place will occur.

Keep checking back as we continue to update on any major storms we see set to hit the US.

    Enjoy the Weather
